Monroe's Go-To Plumber for Fast Repairs

Monroe has the oldest housing in Union County, and that shows up in the calls. Homes around the historic downtown and the older neighbourhoods off Charlotte Highway routinely have galvanised supply, cast-iron waste and clay sewer laterals — three systems that all reach the end of their lives around the same time, and all of which are commonly patched long past the point where replacement would have been cheaper.

Newer subdivisions on the edges of town bring a completely different list. We work both, and we tell you honestly which situation you are in.

Where we work in Monroe

Downtown Monroe, Sutton Park, Meadow Ridge, Beverly Hills and the Skyway Drive corridor. Covering ZIP codes 28110 and 28112.

Older Monroe homes

Pressure that has been dropping for years. Galvanised supply closing up from the inside. No fixture-level repair improves it — the pipe is the restriction, and replacing it changes the house.

Recurring drain problems. Cast-iron waste that has thinned, or a clay lateral with roots at the joints. A camera tells you which, and they need very different repairs.

Very old water heaters. We regularly find units well past twenty years still running. They are not efficient and they will fail without warning.

Newer Monroe subdivisions

Builder-grade water heaters at end of life, failed PRVs, kitchen drain build-up, and split hose bibs after a freeze — the standard 2000s-subdivision list.

We do come out this far

What the housing here is like

The Union County seat, with the oldest housing stock in the county — early-century homes downtown, mid-century neighbourhoods, and newer subdivisions on the edges. Light industrial and civic buildings add real commercial volume.

What customers near Monroe say

“Fantastic company! Jack was honest, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He explained everything that was wrong in great detail. Will definitely be calling him for any future plumbing needs.”
Olga N. Google · General plumbing
“This company was recommended by a neighbor and I could not be more happy with the service they provided! When we realized we had a semi serious water heater problem, Open Water Plumbing was very responsive, not only with calls and text to help me ensure the problem did not get worse but also made it a priority to get to our home to repair the issue the next day. I would happily use them again, and the price was extremely reasonable! 5 star!”
K.Z. Google · Water heater repair
“Jacek installed my outdoor built in kitchen, unclogged my toilet (my daughter flushed down a plastic bottle) and he finished a couple other small jobs for me. He was always on time. Very easy to work with. Even if you think something is not possible, better call him first, I am pretty sure he will find the solution.”

Questions

Monroe plumbing questions

Do you actually come out to Monroe?

Yes, regularly — it is a normal part of our service area, not an occasional trip. We will give you a real arrival window when you call rather than a vague one.

My older Monroe home has low pressure everywhere. What is it?

Nearly always galvanised supply that has closed up internally over decades. Replacing it is the only real fix, and the difference afterwards is dramatic.

How do I know if my sewer line is clay?

Age of the house is the best first clue, and a camera confirms it in twenty minutes. Clay joints are where roots get in, which is why the blockages come back seasonally.
