“Fantastic company! Jack was honest, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He explained everything that was wrong in great detail. Will definitely be calling him for any future plumbing needs.”
Matthews's Go-To Plumber for Fast Repairs
Matthews has genuinely old housing stock, which most of our service area does not. The streets around downtown and Stumptown Park include homes with original cast-iron waste and galvanised supply — systems that fail slowly and then all at once. A few minutes away in Sardis Plantation, Providence Plantation or Callonwood, the problem set flips to polybutylene fittings and 1990s water heaters.
Both need a plumber who diagnoses rather than assumes, because the right repair on one is the wrong repair on the other.

Where we work in Matthews
Sardis Plantation, Providence Plantation, Callonwood, Stevens Mill, Brightmoor and downtown Matthews. Covering ZIP codes 28104 and 28105.
Downtown Matthews and the older streets
Galvanised supply closes up from the inside over decades. The symptom is pressure that has been gradually getting worse for years, and no fixture-level repair will improve it — the pipe itself is the restriction.
Cast-iron waste thins from the bottom of horizontal runs. A camera shows you exactly how much life is left, which is what turns a guess into a plan.
Clay sewer laterals under mature trees. Roots find the joints, blockages return seasonally, and a located spot repair ends it for good.
The 1980s and 1990s suburbs
Polybutylene in Sardis Plantation, Providence Plantation and similar. It fails at the fittings with little warning. Two leaks in a year is the point at which a repipe is simply the cheaper option.
Original water heaters in homes that changed hands recently and where nobody knows the install date. We can usually read it off the serial number in a minute.
What the housing here is like
A genuine historic downtown with pre-war homes, surrounded by 1980s and 1990s suburbs — meaning both cast iron and polybutylene in quantity.

“This company was recommended by a neighbor and I could not be more happy with the service they provided! When we realized we had a semi serious water heater problem, Open Water Plumbing was very responsive, not only with calls and text to help me ensure the problem did not get worse but also made it a priority to get to our home to repair the issue the next day. I would happily use them again, and the price was extremely reasonable! 5 star!”
“Jacek installed my outdoor built in kitchen, unclogged my toilet (my daughter flushed down a plastic bottle) and he finished a couple other small jobs for me. He was always on time. Very easy to work with. Even if you think something is not possible, better call him first, I am pretty sure he will find the solution.”
Matthews plumbing questions
Our downtown Matthews home has terrible water pressure. Can it be fixed?
If it is galvanised supply, the pipe itself has closed up and no fixture repair will help — replacing the supply is the fix, and it usually transforms the house. We can confirm what you have in a few minutes.
Is cast-iron drain pipe worth replacing?
Depends what the camera shows. Isolated damage is a spot repair. A run that has scaled and thinned along its length is worth doing once properly instead of repairing every eighteen months.
Do you serve both the 28105 and 28104 sides of Matthews?
Yes — downtown, Sardis Plantation, Providence Plantation, Callonwood, Stevens Mill and the surrounding streets.
